Snappers
Ledge is a shallow patch reef located a short
distance south/west of Pickles Reef. It is
unmarked and has no moorings, thus requiring
visitors to anchor their boats in the sand
around the edges of the reef. With a depth of
only 25' to 30' it is an excellent dive for all
experience levels or as a second dive following
a deeper dive.
A ledge runs along the west side of the reef
that is home to a near flawless 4' brain coral
and a stand of Elkhorn coral. However, the real
attraction and what the reef is best know for is
the extremely large schools of Yellowtail
Snapper, Lane Snapper and Yellow Goatfish that
"hang" along this ledge.
