Conch
Reef is an intermediate to advanced dive due to
the variable currents that can run from moderate
to strong. This reef is know for its wall type
contour and is also referred to as Conch Wall,
the upper section of the slope averages 50 feet,
but the base extends to 90 feet where a wide
strip of sand runs parallel to the deeper parts
of the reef.
The reef is also know for the
barrel sponges that cover much of the reef area
along with a variety of gorgonians. When the
currents are present this dive site is an
excellent choice for drift dives where divers
are frequently rewarded with pelagic fish due to
the deeper water.
